Prayer

To undergird our every endeavor with alert, thankful prayer, thereby recognizing our absolute dependence upon the power of God to accomplish His own will.

Prevailing prayer is a foundation work of the church and must be the foundation from which every ministry is enacted and maintained.

1.     Personal prayer

Each individual in the church must develop a heart for prayer and a continual practice of it.

• Ephesians 6:18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,

2.     Corporate prayer

The church must encourage and teach its members to pray by presenting multiple opportunities for group prayer.

• Acts 2:42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

• Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving;
