Sunday School
Adult Classes
The goal of Sunday School at Grace is to help fulfill the commission to the church as found in Ephesians 4:11-13: “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ”.
Our desire is that each member of the body be fully equipped to carry out the work of the ministry that God has given to them. Therefore, our adult Sunday School ministry provides instruction in a variety of areas including: ongoing Bible book studies which focus on the proper means of interpreting and applying the Scriptures directly; topical studies (Biblical parenting, Biblical counseling, Biblical marriage roles, etc.) to help address what the Bible says about honoring Christ in every sphere of life; and overview studies (Firm Foundations, Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, etc.) which ground believers in the big picture of God’s Word.
All members are encouraged to attend one of the following equipping classes:
First Service (8 – 9:15 am)
No adult classes
Second Service (9:30 – 10:45 am)
Judges – Annex Upstairs
College Class – Vienna Coffee
Becoming One – Young Marrieds and Young Parents – Annex Right
Third Service (11:00 – 12:15 pm)
Gospel of John – Annex Upstairs
1 and 2 Peter – Annex Right
It is our prayer that every person who attends Grace would be familiar with the biblical doctrines and life changing application that these classes provide.
In each of these classes our teachers seek to accomplish the following mandate, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15). Thus, while we encourage and foster discussion and interaction, we are careful to correct erroneous views, and help direct proper application.
